How to get involved

No care-experienced young person should navigate thier vocational, further or higher education journey alone.

By getting involved with NNECL you can make a difference. From a monthly donation, to hosting a bake-sale or games night for a good cause, you can make a difference for young people who don't have a traditional family network of support.

Why not celebrate a special occasion by asking your friends and family to donate to NNECL in lieu of presents.

Join us as a Trustee

We are looking for up to four people who align with our mission, vision, and values and are passionate about education and social mobility.

We want our Board to reflect the richness of our society and we warmly welcome applications from people with a care background or with recent lived experience of being an estranged student.

You don’t need experience of being a Trustee, we will provide you with an induction, a buddy and all the support you need to feel confident in the role.

We are especially interested in hearing from:

+ People with experience in philanthropy and fundraising

+ People with experience of in children’s social care decision making

+ People with experience of political influencing

+ People with recent experience of care and post-16 education

All the information on how to apply are here in the recruitment pack. The deadline for applications is 5:00pm, Friday 17 July 2026. Being a Trustee is a voluntary unpaid role. We cover the cost of NNECL related travel and reasonable expenses. If you have any questions after reading the pack please get in touch via info@nnecl.org

Ways to partner with NNECL

There are lots of ways you can partner with us. You don't have to be limited to just one.

By partnering with NNECL, you can make a real difference, whether it’s donating a percentage of profits from a product, sponsoring an event or webinar, supporting your local NNECL regional group, or making us your charity of the year. Every action shows you genuinely care and is a powerful way to meet your CSR objectives and inspire your future and current employees.

If your organisation is based in one location you could support or fundraise for your regional group. Through our network of Regional Groups we support over 5000 care experienced and estranged learners across the UK.
