We're the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers, NNECL, an award-winning education charity working to transform the educational outcomes of young people with experience of being in care.

By connecting and empowering social care and education professionals, we support care-experienced and estranged young people to reach their full educational potential. Together with our partners, we open pathways into apprenticeships, further and higher education.

If you're supporting care leavers into or through post-16 education, we're here for you.

NNECL is unapologetically ambitious for care leavers

Just like their peers, care-experienced young people deserve the opportunity to begin adulthood with a good education and the chance to build fulfilling and sustainable careers.

We are trusted by colleges, universities, and civil society organisations across all four nations of the UK. We proudly build partnerships with like-minded organisations to ensure care-experienced and estranged young people have the support and opportunities they deserve and need to thrive through post-16 education.

Since registering as a charity in 2018, we have collaborated with proactive and ambitious colleges, universities, virtual schools, and local authority leaving-care teams to transform the educational outcomes of children in care and care leavers.

We are trusted by colleges, universities, virtual schools, leaving care teams and key stakeholders across the UK. Together, we support more than 5,000 care-experienced and estranged students.

Your Support Matters

Supporting NNECL financially allows us to continue to do our work, and do it well. Your donations keep our regional groups running, allow us to pay our experienced staff, and help us cover essential operational costs.

Together, we create learning environments where care leavers can thrive.
