Greater Manchester in partnership with the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) is launching cohort 2 of the collaborative approach for providers to work towards the NNECL Quality Mark Accreditation.
Join us on Thursday 23rd October 2025 11.00-12.00
The NNECL Quality Mark is a prestigious developmental change management process for Universities, Colleges, Sixth Forms and Independent Training Providers.
The QM Framework covers:
- the student/learner lifecycle from outreach through to graduation (and beyond);
- institutional culture and leadership; and
- continuous improvement and future plans.
The Quality Mark enables institutions to assess their current practice, identify gaps in provision and establish areas for development in coming years through an institutional self-assessment with support and review by a NNECL Assessor.
15 Universities and Colleges across Greater Manchester have already achieved this status to the benefit of their Care Experienced learners and it is now the ambition of the GM Care Leaver Trust Board to support the remaining organisations to go through this process. Building on the GM Care Leaver Guarantee and other related initiatives across GM and in advance of the national recommendation that all HE and FE providers works towards an approved kitemark.
This is a unique opportunity to get on board and help make Greater Manchester the best place Care Experienced young people to learn and achieve their career aims.
