Lynne has worked in higher education student support services for over 30 years. Until recently Lynne worked as the manager of the money advice team at the Liverpool John Moores University. In addition to giving money advice to current and prospective students, Lynne also managed the University hardship fund and scholarship schemes as well as managing the support offered to care experienced students and those estranged from their families.
Between 2008 and 2012, she was the elected Chair of the National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA) and remains an active NASMA member with a particular interest in training and development of staff giving money advice to current and prospective students.
Lynne’s particular area of expertise are student finance and DWP benefits and she represents AMOSSHE at a number of SLC stakeholder groups including Chairing the Vulnerable Students Stakeholder Group. She also contributes to a publication produced by the Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) the Student Support and Benefits Handbook, which is produced annually.
In 2013 Lynne was awarded an MBE for services to Higher Education.
