Moira Mitchell

Moira spent the early part of her professional life in the healthcare sector and in 1998 became Director of the Foundation for Assistive Technology, a charity linked to the Royal Association of Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR) which facilitated disabled people to shape the products and services they receive. She ran this charity for seven years, working with a large population of disabled service users, delivering contracts, amongst others, for the Department of Health. In 2007 Moira was appointed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2007 where she also worked as strategic lead for student retention until 2019.

Moira has a first degree in Modern Languages, a masters degree in Social Research Methods, a post-graduate certificate in Learning and Teaching and she is a Winston Churchill fellow.

Since 2020 Moira has led the ongoing development of NNECL’s Quality Mark for the Inclusion and Success of Care Experience Students.
