Entering Higher Education can be exciting, but daunting. Even more so if you combine that with leaving care. At Canterbury Christ Church University, we are here to support you every step of the way. From the moment you arrive, support advisers are on hand to help with personal, financial, academic or housing matters. Advisers can also be involved with your personal education plans and where appropriate, advocate on your behalf.
Canterbury Christ Church University has a Care Leaver bursary for eligible undergraduate or PGCE students which amounts to £4,800 over four years of study (£1,200 per academic year, pro rata if studying part time) including either Foundation Year or PGCE, but excluding apprenticeships.
Care Leavers are also guaranteed a place on our SCE Ambassador scheme (pending DBS, right to work checks and completion of training). This is a paid role which offers flexible hours to fit around your studies.
