The decision to attend university was not tough; what was challenging were the steps to get here, the hard work, late hours, and tears that went into it. My family is largely made up of hardworking individuals, and I have grown up to overcome adversity. I've had more doubts than anyone can imagine, and it was my turning point because the clouds of criticism often get to me, but when they do, it simply makes me more determined and hungry to succeed and go to university and work towards my dream career.

Don't allow being a care leaver or the stereotype of being looked after to define you; it's just that you've faced many problems and had decisions made for you because you're young, and that's okay. University may be the best option for you, but whatever you choose, do it with passion and enthusiasm.
