Strathclyde Cares is our range of support and activities specifically for those from looked-after backgrounds. We are committed to encouraging more applications and supporting our care leavers from application stage through their degree and beyond. We are happy to provide tours of the university and subject departments, and our Care Adviser, Debbie Duncan, can talk you through the application process. The University of Strathclyde will make a guaranteed offer when meeting minimum entry requirements to those who have spent time in care, to recognise the additional barriers you might have faced during your education. We will keep in touch throughout the application cycle to ensure you receive support and information on your journey and will support you during your transition to Strathclyde, As a student with us, you can receive year-round accommodation, you will be guaranteed an interview to become a student ambassador, and you will be matched with a mentor – a friendly member of staff who will support and advise you throughout your time with us. We can also help with graduation costs when you are ready for the next stage of your career.
