We all know our care experienced students may need to take a break from their studies from time to time.

In this webinar, Lynne Condell* shares all of the necessary information required to support your students with study breaks.

In the session we only looked at full time undergraduates from England and Wales and the session included:-

  • Why students take time out of their studies
  • Why it is important to be involved in the process
  • How taking time out will impact on student funding including future funding and incurring overpayments,
  • How some students may be eligible to continue to receive funding through the absence period
  • Who may be eligible to claim means tested benefits and/or Council Tax exemption
  • Managing the return to study from a student finance perspective

*Lynne has worked in higher education student support for over 30 years. She is currently a freelance trainer on all things student finance related and contributes to several national student finance stakeholder groups, including chairing the Student Finance England (SFE) / Wales (SFW) vulnerable student stakeholder group on behalf of the Student Loans Company (SLC).
